What Order to Bleed?
'98 LS400. I am changing brake fluid and have a "Power Bleeder." As I drain and replace my brake fluid, I believe I start bleeding at the wheel farthest away from the master cylinder, i.e., right rear. Then I go to left rear and then I go to right front and end up at the left front. Is this correct?
I'e follow that pattern for years but recent have decided it doesn't matter at all for a bleed job. In that you're just pulling down a little fluid. The only logic I can see in it at all is for a flush. Then flushing the longer lines till clear first might save you a little fluid but, for what brake fluid costs, so what.
I wish someone would explain to me why, for modern cars, we think that order is important. I bet it goes back ancient brake system design.
