Default Maintenance

Im looking for feedback about maintenance. Now that there are alot of 2nd and 3rd gen owners out there, how many of them acually will be taking them back to the over priced dealerships for maint/repairs? Here in the northwest Ive had the pleasure of meeting a factory trained Lexus Tech. (11yrs with Lexus) Who is thinking of opening his own shop, specializing in Lexus and Toyota vehicles. If there was a shop with that kind of experiance, that wasnt charging the Dealership prices, would you take your Lexus' to an "independent shop"? Thanks for any feed back.

I would take my baby to a nondealer serviceperson only if I knew them personally, had recommendations from persons I respected to be accurate, had assurance and guarantee from the serviceperson that they were responsible for damage to my car they cause cosmetic or otherwise; and lastly, or when she's about 8-10 years old depending on condition then it doesn't matter to me.

Be careful taking your car to an aftermarket shop. I have seen many cars come back to the dealer because the aftermarket shop screwed the car up and the owner ends up spending twice the money to get it fixed right. Anything major I would take it to the dealer. I would never even considered taking my car to a dealer untill I started working at one and seeing the mistakes other shops have made.
