"AUDIO OFF" issue after battery replacement
Wife’s 2011 has a marginal original Pana battery (water level at low, difficulty in cranking). Since the vehicle has seen 4.5 years of use, picked up a Bosch and replaced the battery myself. Figured this is a no brainer and much less problematic than BMW’s. Wrong!
Everything went well so I thought. Day 1, was able to use remote/smart key just fine except once or twice, the LX would start up with AUDIO OFF (we never turn off the audio before shut-down), and pressing the left radio **** would have no effect, this affected the voice command as well as the BT. However, if I were to go into the vehicle settings OR BT Audio screen and change one setting and save it, then I can start the audio by pressing the button in approx.. 20 seconds. Annoyed by this inconsistency, I decided it should be corrected.
Day 1 evening, after going over every option to no avail, I unhooked the battery and let the system reboot (was hoping this affects other components than the Navi). This time the remote didn’t start the vehicle with the red truck icon lit steady, so I tried locking and unlocking using the physical key but that didn’t help.
By now it's 11pm, removed negative cable and reconnected again, this time the smart key can only unlock and lock, no proximity detection and the start button would not respond unless the fob is touching. Tried all keys and fresh batteries just to rule out a non-functioning fob. Took it to the dealer the following day and they claimed that I somehow turned off the smart key recognition without knowing it (it involves using the physical key).
Now that they got the smart key to work, the foreman also confirmed that the AUDIO OFF issue is present “most of the time”, he suggested that the radio needs to be replaced so he ordered one since I have the Lexus extended warranty. For whatever reason, the department handling the extended warranty will need to inspect the radio next week before authorizing a ~$600 part. This is nuts.
This may be coincidental but I am not sure if the radio truly has failed. Any of you came across something similar?

Lexus Champion
My LX570 will be 4 years old in a month. I just filled up the original Pano with distilled water. Water level was getting near the low level. Should be good for another 4 years but I will now top it off to the full mark every 2 years. But this LX has spent its life in Texas so no real severe weather. Let us know why all this happened because of a battery replacement??

Max,
Unfortunately in my case, I couldn't bring the Pana back beyond 50%, hence I decided to swap. Will see what happens after the radio swap, though I am not hopeful that would solve it. Really looks like a setting got messed up.

I think you need to disconnect the battery for at least 5min and reconnect again, but after connecting put the engine on (by pressing the button twice without braking), leave it for few seconds then hit the brake and push the button again to start up the car. This way you are allowing the vehicle a proper start up.
I still like to remind you to make sure the new battery was properly charged before installed in the car, and to double check it is a 12.6-12.8v when fully charged as per the vehicle specs.
All the best.

My used 2010 does that. Sometimes it would take up to 3 minutes for audio to turn on. I did see the car had this issue by looking at lexus service history but the dealer noted that the problem was fixed after reconnecting the battery. So i thought it was fixed only to find out the problem still exists after warranty expired. It doesn't bother me that much so I can live with it. Would love to know if someone has a fix.

I am going to wait and see what they say about the radio, meanwhile I have compared all settings between the LX-570 to my IS-F and the ONLY difference is that in the BT setting - AUTO BLUETOOTH CONNECT, there are two switches, ON or OFF, one of which is always highlighted under normal condition. If you look at the first pix, the ON/OFF are greyed out, then the 2nd pic for the IS-F shows ON.

Audio Off - FIX
Radio displayed Audio Off. Would not work. Lexus dealer said it needed a new amp and/or radio head unit. +$800 estimated repair .
I Checked all related fuses and they “looked” good. I found a YouTube video where the guy says to replace the 10A fuse under passenger compartment.
I was skeptical, but replaced what appeared to be a good fuse - It fixed my audio problem!
Amazing!!!

Audio Off
I am having this Audio Off issue after changing an aftermarket Bluetooth and satellite radio module. Everything works but screen says Audio Off. Also, no audible tone when pressing climate or other buttons or changing temp. Mine is an 08 Rx350. Any thoughts? Where's the fuse box on passenger side? Any info on that would be most welcome.
