Seat Coolers Working?
Hey Folks,
I'm not 100% sure that the seat coolers in my '09 LX 570 are working properly. When you turn them over to the cool function, you can hear the fan(s) running, but I'm not feeling much air flow. By comparison, the seats in my brother-in-law's '13 LX 570 feel much cooler when using the same function. Any ideas?
All input is welcome.
Thanks!
Rick

Hi. I also have an 09 LX and I can tell you that the seats don't cool all that much. My understanding is that the system was improved in later years which explains why your in law's newer lx has more cooling action.

Thanks for the reply. I'm actually somewhat glad to hear that my seats might be working "properly." I was afraid that maybe I could be in for a big repair bill. I think I can learn to live with them, as is. Again, appreciate the response!

This has been one of my beefs with my LX-570 since I bought mine. They only blow the cabin air and do not air condition the seats. When I saw red to the right, then silver turning to blue to the left, the blue sure indicated to me air conditioning. But it is only a little tiny fan. My 100 pound girlfriend can slightly feel it.
My other two beefs?
Lack of blind spot indicators on the side view mirrors. Lexus has it on other models, why the heck not their largest flagship model? Just plain stupid.
Lack of storage up front. Why not simple floorboard boxes? Redesign the center consol.
Other than that a great vehicle.

Agree with your gripe on the seats. One of the reasons I chose to go from my '99 Land Cruiser to the LX 570 (not an upgraded Cruiser) is that I wanted some nice extra luxury. The seat coolers was one of the things on my luxury item list, so...it's a bit of a disappointment.
But on the much more positive side...it's really an AWESOME vehicle. It rides like a pure luxury car and will easily take a bunch of people up a snow covered mountain in style. I don't know if you can appreciate one of these things until you drive one. That said, I can live with a couple of small shortcomings....
Again, thanks for the replies.

I did the same! I moved up from a 2008 Land Cruiser. It was a terrific vehicle. It took me a while to realize how much more luxurious the 570 is because I really liked the Land Cruiser.
The only short coming is my 570 has Goodyears on it and they don't ride as well as Michelins. Discount Tire was going to swap them out for me, but I decided I'll just drive them for now. I really prefer the feel of Michelins. I tried Goodyears on the Land Cruiser and it had the same less firm and less in control feel and I immediately swapped them for Michelins.
With Michelins my Land Cruiser felt like it was on train tracks and taught. With Goodyears, both the Land Cruiser and the 570 feel soft and a little wobbly. I just spent two days on a race track with my Porsche 911, so I believe I'm in tune with the feel of the car.
Any thoughts on a bike rack? I just started a thread asking about that.

I have owned three different model/year LX 570 units and none had seat cooling to brag about. I will admit that my 2013 seats are a little cooler but not near where my Ford F150 Platinum performs but then it had forced AC to the front buckets and will frost your behind in minutes!
