Drove 3 different LX570’s the same day, ended up buying the 2010 model. Two of the three had the ECT switch broken off it’s hinge and had fallen into the console gap below.

how can I fix this? Take apart the console? Since it had happened on two of the three I drove, I assumed it was a common problem.

 

I would assume these vehicles were not from a Lexus dealer? It's just a button and won't need that much force to operate. And yes, to fix it likely will have to pop open the console and see if it's the switch that broke or if it's the 'console' side that broke. A cheap fix would be to super glue it.
