Tungsten carbide studded tires rule on the right conditions. If you want to dominate in awful conditions on the road, bring good weight/balance, good traction, and a pile of electronic controls. Plus a bottle of a good Pinot.

I had a set of Hakkas on a diesel F350 for plowing. Those tires are amazing for snow and ice.

I have another question for everyone that I couldn't find definitive answers on.

The key fob remote start. What model year is it required to have the subscription? I don't care about the app, just using the key fob. And I thought I saw an option for the dealer to install something for about $300 to permenently enable the fob remote start?

Can someone clarify all that for me?

I am officially a 200 series owner!

It took more than 2 months to wrestle my insurance company into a fair settlement, but I got it. And this beauty came up with perfect maintenance history and all. I am so pleased. I rented a car and drove 260 miles to get her. 2017:

And drove her home yesterday.

To do list:

Order remote control and covers for DVD screens- did this morning.

It is at 60,000 miles and the AHC is on the maintenance schedule. Talk to a dealer about it.

I have 18" black Tundra wheels, figure out which tire I want - 285-60/18 in a P Michelin LTX? Or 285-65/18 in an LT maybe a KO2? I am unsure what the trade off in ride quality will be. Better because 21 to 18, but worse because aggressive tread and P vs LT. Any advice here would be appreciated. Or the previously talked about 275/65/18.

Call a local Cruiser outfitters type place and ask about drawers, probably ARB, and figure out a sleeping platform to use with them.

Congrats!!!! Post pics when you do the wheel and tire swap. I’m contemplating tundra BBS wheels and LTX tires.

I use 275/65R18 114T Michelin LTX AT2. No trade offs. Much better offroad and more comfortable than stock tires. Of course, if you do a lot of heavy towing, you should consider LT tires.

Yeah after more research, I am leaning toward LT now in a 275/70/18. The AT2 is a serious contender. Some AT tread but still a high mileage tire with a smooth ride like the Defender LTX. The extra height will be nice.

When I do finally do it, I will definitely post pics.
