I've had my 18 LX570 for a little over a year. Bought it with 23k, now close to 45k. Love it, but I am having problems here and there with it.
The weird problem is that at times the rear hatch malfunctions. I open the hatch, using the switch by the license plate. Hatch opens, I duck my head in to reach for whatever I am grabbing out of the back, and without warning or reason the hatch closes on me. This has happened 4-5 times, no particular reason or warning for it. Has anyone else had this? Is it some kind of defect? Or is it supposed to do this for some reason I am unaware of?
Unrelated to that, I have recently hit the close switch, only to hear a few beeps, then it doesn't close. When this happens I have to manually close the hatch.
I am concerned that I'm rolling up on 50k, and these kinds of things no longer will be warranty repairs, but at my expense.
Take it into the dealer now while it's under warranty. Maybe one of the arms is catching or needs grease - making the automated feature think it's hitting something?
I had similar issues after some body work. It turned out to be the sensors in the rubber mouldings around the hatch. Quick adjustment to the fit of the hatch by the body shop and it went away.
I have a 2018 LX570 with 14K miles on it and the rear hatch has come down on me twice after opening it with the pad under the rear hatch handle. I haven't talked with the dealer about this yet.
