Wife has a 16 LX thinking of trading up because it wasn't her ideal color choice (among other things) - thinking of going to a new LandCruiser (MSRP $87k, we're getting quotes around $82k). With $13k off, is it safe to say you got your LX in the mid-high $80s?
MSRP was little above 101, got it for 88 + taxes etc. Fully loaded except rear seat entertainment.

In Aug Lexus had cash rebate of 5500 for North East region which now is 6000. I assume across the nation it would've increased at least by 500. Where I purchased it was 7000 and rest is dealer discount. Based on my search, black or white exterior with with black seat is more prevalent that any other combination.

I did a double take when I saw your pictures because I have the same one in my driveway here in NJ. Purchased back in Feb. I didn't travel as far as you did though, found it in PA.

Maybe I'll see ya on the GSP!

For anyone looking for an LX right now I have noticed that inventory is quite low. I don't know if that is end of model year or pandemic related but I don't recall ever seeing so many dealers with little to no LX inventory. Good luck!

I've not seen anything indicating Toyota plans on killing the LX. I have seen where the LX continues on, perhaps with a twin turbo V6...The Land Cruiser is rumored to change to a smaller truck, along the size and somewhat a clone of Range Rover.

I'd love an electric LX...assuming it weighs the same or less than a gas truck. Also assuming i can recharge it in the same time or less than it takes me to refuel with gas. Use of our LX and Land Cruiser is at least half off-road, camping...though it's called "overlanding" now. Charging stations don't exist in the boondocks, but we can easily carry an extra 5 or 10 gallons of fuel.

Oops , I mis-spoken about LX. It was about Land Cruiser : https://jalopnik.com/land-cruiser-ca...ial-1837405488

Quite honestly I believe electric cars are of the future of auto industry. Love to own an electric version of LX....... for now https://www.greencarreports.com/news...-mile-warranty

An hybrid / electric with decent MPG LX would be a great car. The only car to keep. My LX only comes out when we know we are going to do some 'off roading' or in bad weather. I just wish sometimes LX would have some more interior space so it can be slept inside. I have kids and its impossible to be comfortable inside at night if we decide to "camp in".

Jalopnik also mis-spoke, which is typical... "It could also be argued that if the big, luxurious, expensive Land Cruiser dies in America, its name could live on in other markets as a more utilitarian vehicle—as it is now."

"But meanwhile, we’ve got a perfectly good Land Cruiser for now, and since only a few thousand get sold every year, you shouldn’t have much trouble scooping one up if you’re keen to spend $90,000 on an excellent albeit archaic off-road adventure SUV."

The Land Cruiser does not exist in other markets as a "more utilitarian vehicle--as it is now". Toyota's biggest market is the middle east and there you can get one as stripped or as loaded as you'd like.

I can't see where there'd be any skin off Toyota's tail to keep importing 5-6 thousand to the North American market...they sell every truck they import with the price code to 6 figures. It's also FAR better off-road than ANY of it's competitors.

My money says you'd think you were in hell if you tried to pull a trailer holding two horses and all of their stuff...in the mountains to boot.

All that comes to mind is a tiny trailer, or a GM Suburban. A Sequoia is also a possibility.

Beautiful. Those 21” rims I think are my favorite Lexus rims ever. They are stunning

Probably it would be better if those of us, who use LX for what it was designed, will not comment on the 21" rims (and bumpers) :-D

This, my friends, is why my eyes are set on a 2015 LX. Doesn't look quite as impressive but the 20" rims and better off road angles I seek for a reason.

Already found a set of 20" A/T off road tires for it that minimally impact the plush ride (according to a member).

I've been looking on and off for years but it really shouldn't be long now until my dream truck is in my driveway.

If you're using the LX for what it can do off a paved road, 21" wheels are not a good choice whatsoever. But with 18" wheels, tires with chains, and the oem grill I see definite possibilities for a snow plow.
