The grill was starting to show its age. Chrome was peeling in a couple spots and the regular rock chips and such. I picked up a new knock-off grill from ebay and got it installed. Installation was pretty straight forward, and now it looks good as new again.
Just ordered up all 3 rows of seats worth of brand new replacement leather from LSEATS.com. I chose the "LARK" color which is slightly darker than the factory light tan interior. I am hoping that the contrast will look good against the rest of the interior. I will post a step by step series of videos once the leather sets arrive showing how to remove, prep, and reupholster each set of seats. Stay tuned.
Some folks were asking about how the color swatches compare against the factory interior. I thought the easiest way to show that was with a video.
Here's the video that shows all the color swatches from lseats.com against our 2009 LX570. Hope it's helpful for you all!
I was looking at wheels the other day to freshen up LEXI's look. But I kept coming back to stuff that looked similar to the stock wheels. So instead I'm going with BORA 1.25" spacers and will refinish the stock wheels. If you're thinking about spacers it's a good time to buy, BORA's are 15% off for the next few days for their holiday sale using coupon code "holiday15" on their website. https://www.motorsport-tech.com
Now I'm trying to figure out whether to refinish the wheels in a color similar to the factory gunmetal-ish color, or go with a different color.
Thank you for the very useful series of posts. The ones on the new tires I found most helpful as I am on set 2 of the Latitudes and due for new ones as only 1mm to go before hitting the indicator strips.
Has your radiator ever been replaced or have you lucked out not getting the dreaded crack near the filler?

Love making the videos. It's always fun sharing our experiences. I have been very happy with the Michelin Defender LTX tires over the Latitudes. They have been great in every way so far.
I think my radiator was replaced at some point by one of the previous owners. It looked brand new almost when I purchased the LX570 3yrs ago. I am now at 202k miles, and I check it anytime I have the engine covers off, so far so good.
Installed some updated tail lights. Still not sure how I feel about them. Do you guys like the new style or old style? Step by step video for those doing the same. The lights on the hatch took me a few minutes to figure out, but overall not too bad of an install:
Been having problems with the Tekonsha brake controller staying connected for the last year or so. So after seeing a few other installs I decided on the Redarc Tow Pro Elite. I installed it along with the plug and play harness so I don't have to cut or splice any wires. And I also opted for the toyota switch panel they have so that I didn't have to drill any holes in the dash. The install was easy, and WOW, it works much better than the Tekonsha, even back when it did work well when I first installed it. The Redarc braking in the default "proportional" mode is much more smooth and predictable. Very happy with the switch.
For anyone thinking about installing one, I did a full step by step video of the installation procedure on my 2009 LX570. Should be very similar on any 2008-2021 Land Cruiser or LX570.
And she is sold! Wow that was fast. The new owner is local GX and IS-F owner, fellow toyota addict. He got a great deal on a well loved and well taken care of LX570. Hope he enjoys it as much as we did.
By far one of the best full size SUV's we have had ever (and we have had almost all of the various brands over the years).
Hi, new owner of a 2011 LX 570 and stumbled across this goldmine of a thread. Trying to watch the YouTube videos to follow along but they seem to be down. Anyway to reactivate them? I'm also in Austin so I could even come by with a flash drive 🤣

Great to meet another LX570 owner! And an Austin resident at that !!! :-)
I just updated the video links I could see that were not showing up. Try them now.
You can always just go straight to the channel as well. It's called NKPGARAGE on youtube.
And if you look at the playlists on my youtube channel, there's an LX570 specific playlist in there with all the LX570/200series videos.
Awesome, how did you like the Phoenix head unit while you had lexy? Any issues integrating the parking sensors? Did you have to switch out the factory amp?

Thanks for documenting your journey!
I really enjoyed the Phoenix head unit. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade. Makes the LX feel like its a brand new modern 2022 vehicle. At the time I was one of the first LX owners to get one and it did not work with the factory cameras so I opted to install a 360 camera system. I think some of the newer Phoenix head units might work with the factory cameras now. Worked fine with the parking sensors. The factory amp stays in place, the headunit is a plug and play install and works with the factory amp.
