Somehow, somewhere the outer back cover of my passenger side (outer) mirror fell off. The interior mirror assembly is now exposed to the elements. Can anyone share advice on where / how to purchase the part needed to replace this missing back cover (color = black)? It appears only to be the cover, all functions of the mirror work fine. It seems like this is a simple DIY job. If I’m wrong please let me know. Thank you for any advice. I really don’t want to take this to a garage for repair.

 

It should be available, pre-painted, via your local Lexus dealer. Given the variety of different colors, it's normally something your dealer will order. Similar to a missing trailer hitch cover...

It’s only available (thru dealer) as the complete passenger side mirror assembly. That is > $1,200 for the assembly alone, no labor.
I need to find an OEM option.

 

If it's before 2016 the cover isn't available by itself, but I've read the 2016 & newer LX cover is the same as the GX and available from the dealer.

 

it’s a 10 - 15 min job. Very very easy I think I posted a video of a guy changing the cover on an RX. The cover can be bought online / ebay / Lexus parts online and etc for less than 100 bucks.

if you can plug your phone into the charger you can do this.
