Default LX Nav System Failure

2008 LX570 - Nav system error code: "A program cannot be loaded. Please consult to a dealer." I've seen some threads on this; however, none address the LX570. Can someone tell me where I can find the Nav DVD/CD on this model year? It does not have the two little holes on the side of the clock display. Does this model year have a DVD or a hard drive? The dealer is selling the "this is a $2,900 repair" shpiel. We've already tried taking the negative off for over thirty minutes and touching the upper right, the upper left, lower left, lower right, for two times and nothing happened.

Such a wonderful vehicle and we feel so crippled by this event after a simple battery change. Help!

It appears to be a HDD based system. I cant find anything in the Lexus service manuals about your particular failure, does it list any actual code like a #?

There's no codes. It just says the error message I wrote in the original post and then beneath it, it is written again in Japanese. I've read that if it were a DVD, all we'd have to do is take it out and put it back in. There's got to be a way to re-boot the HDD to re-start the system without installing a new navigation system.

The hard drive is probably damaged and Lexus doesn't sell the drive separately. You're probably stuck replacing the entire navigation system. I've seem this on other cars with HDD based navigation systems.

Ill warn you that it looks a lot like a problem I had with the 2017....see other post here (but Lexus never solved the issue....same $2900 complaint from them.)
