Windshield replacement cost
Got a fairly large crack on my 2016 windshield today. We have windshield insurance so the deductible is $100. Got a quote from dealer to get it replaced and they quoted me $3200.xx. Anyone else get a quote that large. $952 just for calibration, $1326 for windshield, and other costs associated with it getting it done. Seems like a big rip off. Just wanted to compare.

If you are only paying the $100 deductible, then I would insist on OEM, whatever that is with the "Lexus" mark on the lower passenger side, LOL.
BUT IF I'M PAYING OUT OF POCKET, then I would seriously consider aftermarket like the one made by Poilkington (they make lots of OEM windshields. Pay attention to the "embedded coloring in the glass" and if there are any "defrost option" with wires attachment at the bottom. Also if there are any "sun shade strip" across the top 4 to 6 inches......
If your LX is still under some kind of warranty, then better use OEM windshield. This came up for discussion when our auto wipers sensor failed. The Lexus dealership tried to blame on the windshield. I told them to look at the windshield CAREFULLY AGAIN and it is THE ORIGINAL FROM THE FACTORY!!! The Lexus dealership promptly repaired the auto rain sensor without any further discussions!!!
EDIT:
If your 2016 LX570 model has some sort of cameras or sensors built into the module that is attached to the windshield, then this may need "CALIBRATION". This may be needed for the auto collision avoidance warning/auto brake systems to work properly. IDK. Our 2013 LX570 has that rare "PCS" option for that model year. This will only engage when the radar cruise is engaged. Even then, it will not bring the LX to s full stop ....... Only slows the LX down rapidly and tightens the seatbelts and hit the brakes if it senses a crash is imminent. All the sensors for our LX is located in the grill. I don't think anything related to the PCS is in the windshield. But your 2016 model LX570 may be different?

The windshield on my GS was $1600 with OEM glass installed at Safelite. Not sure what year you have but my 09 LX has acoustic glass which is considerably more expensive than the GS windshield. I would say $1500 for just glass wouldn't be out of the norm.
Safelite quotes the acoustic glass (with all of the driver aids) at $509.
You can go to Safelite.com, go to "quotes and scheduling" and put in your info. I'm not suggesting that you go anywhere but the dealer for this but it is a good tool for price comparison.
