Default 2016 lx570 high fuel consumption

Hi

I just bought a 2016 lx570 (GCC specification) and i have previously owened a 2009 lx570

I have noticed a high fuel consumption on my 2016 model i have taken the vehicle to the dealer for check up and they think it has normal fuel consumption.

I am getting 530km (331miles) in the range page with Eco mode. Is this normal.? I used to get higher range with my old 2009 model.

The only diffrence is that my 2016 has the sport kit installed (as shown in the picture) which i am suspecting that it has more drag on highways.

I am seriously thinking about removing the sport kit to get more range. Any suggestion.?

Thanks in advance

I’m usually around 278 miles on mine being 13.9 mpg for the city for a 2016. You must be driving mostly hwy to get close to 16.5 mph. This is assuming the 20 gallon tank for fillups and 6 gallons or so for reserve.

So if you are saying what you are saying that’s really good.

I assume that in your location you are not using ethanol-containing gasoline. Here in the USA, I can boost my range by around 30-40 extra miles by using non-ethanol gas rather than the E85 blend. And that is 93 octane rated E85 versus 89 octane alcohol-free gasoline. I have not been able to find 93 octane non-ethanol anywhere near me to see if that further increases range.

BTW, what is the gas tank capacity of the LX570 version marketed in the UAE?

Attached is the details of the gas being used in UAE.

I have ti check the users manual for the size of the tank, but i believe that it pretty big 300AED (81$).

Your LX seems quite fuel-efficient with 331 miles for a full tank. My 2014 showing 280 miles after a refuel.

I've been using ethanol-free gas in both the LX and Land Cruiser since I bought both. Last fill of the Cruiser gave me 14 mpg after 280 miles around town and on the highway about 50-50.

I don't check predicted mileage with a full tank. I can say that with the gauge indicating 1/8 tank, I had 7 gallons remaining prior to filling up.

I doubt "more drag on the highways" can be measured unless you have access to a wind tunnel. As aerodynamics go, it's a box with or without the sport kit. I'd blame it on the ECU's inability to accurately calculate mpkm.

Newer fuel formulations (ethanol) = often means worse gas mileage. It's 6,000lbs- big v8...figure ~15+ in mixed driving is about normal.

530km of range is pretty good. Do you know the size of the fuel tank?

Same as trucks for the North American market.

I can't get more than 250 miles/tank with mine so that is good! Wish it came with bigger tanks - taking long road trips means frequent fill ups and stops...

If it bothers you enough, you can get an auxiliary tank and install it or have it installed. Iirc, you can get at least a 12 gallon tan, perhaps more.
