I’m a long time Benz and Lexus owner. But the Teslas are tempting.
Thoughts would be appreciated!

I also think about it, went to the Tesla showroom couldn’t get over the interior plus feels very low to drive. To add it’s not ver comfortable but again no gas and has a ton of other features. It’s insanely faster than the lx.
I wonder if anyone here has both or moved to the Tesla world completely to chime in.
to be honest I would love a p100d model s.

It is the autopilot or self-driving that really caught my attention most.
The gas isn’t a factor at all.
And yes, I was hoping a fellow ex or current LX owner can chime in.

Model X ride isn't as plush as the Lexus (the Model 3 and Model S are a more comfy ride), the Model X gullwing doors doesn't mix well in my garage, and the Model X isn't as quiet on longer trips. Model X specifically also is called out for reliability issues,.
THAT SAID, the Model X is a nice ride - for $100k I'd go for the Model X vs the LX570; the technology prowress, the head turns and the better-than-10mpg I get in my 16 LX wouldn't be so bad.

I would get an S if I had a place to charge it. I’d still keep my LX, and my Jeep! Autopilot is amazing and the performance is stellar. Even without ludicrous mode. Plus, you can keep it at a set interior temperature. Never get in a too hot or too cold car again.

Yes, I truly agree that the interior of these Teslas, except for the seats, are not on a par even from a 2019 ES350. But the autopilot from what I was told is truly something else.
I, honestly, have not done any research about the Tesla, even up to this point. Except when I started this thread.
Tesla's power and speed, is or might be lovely, but I have passed that stage and my driving style has been more relaxed over the years.
We're not rushing. But if anything and if we do decide to get a Tesla, the LX will be the first one to go. I do have other family hauler that I can use if we have visitors!

OP, to be honest, I'm thinking about it. Not the Model X, but rather a CPO Model S or 3.
I've done a little research on Tesla and the Bolt. Seems like the S and X have some "bugs" Tesla needs to work out, but the 3 seems solid.
Main reason the Tesla (or any other EV for that mater) is so enticing, at least to me, is not having to get gas and be dependent on oil. The 12-13mpg I'm averaging is getting a little spendy. My schedule is so hectic it's a waste of time and energy for me to fill up at the gas station every week. I rather wake up to a "full tank" at home, and electricity is cheaper than gasoline. Plus EVs technically have less maintenance than an ICE vehicle.
I'm also not rushing. Would hate to give up the LX's utility and off-road and all weather prowess.

I could recharge it as fast as I can fill my tank from almost dead-empty.
I could carry a spare battery as small as a 5 gallon jerry can and recharge quickly.
Recharging stations would be as easy to find as gas stations.
I could find a repair shop willing to touch it.

I know a traveling equine dentist that has a Tesla S. He loves it and drives it all over the country. Arrives at a horse farm, does his work, drives to a charging station and charges while he does his paper work and then on to his next appointment.
I have a 2016 LX and my wife has a Tesla Model 3, and to be honest, I think I've put more miles on that car than she has. I love that car. She loves the car. Super fun to drive. My kid (age 13) says it has a more comfortable ride in the back than the '16 LX. I'm 6' tall and it's a little tight for me because of the slope of the rear window. My wife and I try to use this car exclusively since it's so cheap to operate. 300 miles in Tesla costs about $15.00 via Tesla Super Charger and 300 miles in LX costs a lot more (california nearly $4 per gallon gas prices). I live in a hilly area so miles don't quite equate... I estimate if the Tesla indicates 250 mile range, we only get 200. Likewise, the LX doesn't perform great in the hilly areas as far as mileage goes.. and going down hill is hard on the brakes because the transmission doesn't down shift very well.
I love my LX it's great to show up in but the Tesla is more enjoyable to zip around in.
We decided on the Model 3 because it's a bit more "sporty" and compact than the S. Since we have the LX, we didn't drive the Tesla X.
In my opinion, the AutoPilot feature is more than slightly over-rated. It's great if you stay in one lane and pay close attention to what's going on. Changing lanes is a little weird. And... sometimes the car does strange things for unknown reasons. I consider this feature something that is not quite perfected.
Lastly, if you have Super Charging stations near your location, that is great. It will take you 45+ minutes to get a full (80%) charge depending on usage i.e. number of other people charging their cars. Chargers slow down at peak times and when usage is maxed out. Tesla recommends cycling the battery between 30% and 80% - this permits the fastest charge times since the kWh goes down from 1% to 30% and from 80% to 100%. Most Tesla Super Chargers are at interesting locations so there is always something to go do in the area but needless to say, you'll be sitting in your car a lot more often... It takes me about 5 minutes to fill up the LX. At least the Tesla has built in video games!

thank you for the comments, how do you like the interior of the model 3? I read that your kids feel its more comfortable . I know the LX in the rear seats is a bit tight plus if you are on imperfect roads the passengers feel it.
