There are recent posts about trailer wiring, and about the Lexus push type clips, They motivated me to combine a bit of both. I don't believe I have posted this before.
I tow at least twice a week. After tiring of misplacing the retaining clips for the hitch cover, and of the strange position of the LX trailer plug socket under the right side of the bumper, this is what I did.
I bought a second center bumper cover, in the same paint as the original. It was about $70. Also bought a 6 foot pre-wired trailer plug socket and bumper mount. I Dremeled out an appropriate size cutout in the cover so I could leave the hitch exposed, and still have it look a bit better than being totally without the cover. And I wired the RV plug extension into the existing wiring, and installed it just to the left of the hitch, where I believe it really should be. It makes my life much easier having the hitch ready to go and the trailer plug socket relocated. The original bumper cover I stored in the back of a closet, along with the plastic engine covers, original carpeted floor mats, and the third row seats. All can go back in/on when I'm ready to part with the current LX.
Brilliant!! I have a bike rack and I kids on mtb trails couple of times a week and without the cover it looks well very ugly. This is a very good idea. Lov it
I recently purchased a 2015 LX in Nebula Gray that didn't come with the painted rear hitch cover. Based on your picture it looks as if you have the same color LX.
Where did you find a replacement cover? I'd like to order one.

If "this" a plastic fastener for the hitch cover, check your local Lexus or Toyota (same parts) if you're feeling spendy. I'd also get a part number on line and check ebay...you can normally find a couple dozen for $5 or so. Any color you'd like, as long as it's black.

Thanks in advance
