Default Removing rear seat entertainment system 17 LX

I have a 2017 LX and want to remove the huge rear seat video screens. My kids use iPads and they take up too much room. Does anyone have a walk through and ideas on how the patch the opening? Thanks for any help.

Sorry, would love to help ya, but our 2016 doesn't have them. Part me is glad that we didn't get them based on your opinion. Good luck and hopefully someone can chime in for you.

I'd have to think that someone would trade headrests with you...

It is possible to remove... with four screws I believe. Here is link to a thread on ih8mud.com where the LC owner had the rear screens removed and replaced with a "cap" fabricated by an upholstery shop.

Scroll down to to nearly the bottom of the first page to see an image of the screens removed.

Hope this helps!

Default Question for you

MJR, do you still have your rear entertainment screens? Are you interested in selling them? Send me a message if you are.

I found and amazing cover to patch the holes after removing the gargantuan TV screens in my 2017 LX. Check out http://www.trekboxx.com/products. I’m going to keep the screens in case the future buyer of the truck wants them.

Default ordered trekboxx covers

nice thread. I purchased a 2018 570 with rear entertainment only to realize the car seat would not fit behind the driver’s seat with the screen. Ordered these from trekboxx a minute ago. Thanks again.

Pop off the panel

Remove the 3 nuts, wrap the ground wire with electrical tape.

Default trekboxx

trekboxx. I ordered some Saturday after reading positive reviews. Probably take them to a local upholstery shop and have them covered with crock skin or maybe ostrich. Idk, something cool
