Most manufacturers do a complete redesign more frequently than is done with the LX, but I guess I'm not too surprised....nor am I disappointed since I recently picked up a '16 LX.
Love the relative exclusivity, but hopefully they start making a re-design.
Why should they spend monies, times and energy to redesign LX any time soon when there are not lot of buyers, so as Mercedes G Class which has been the same for years because there is not a lot of buyers. Unlike popular RX, it will have a modest face lift with 3rd row seat.
But on the other side, the debut in Europe mans that we can get just a new small Land Cruiser Prado (successor of LC 150). It would make a sense as the current GX460 and 4Runner are also due for a replacement (they are the last Toyotas without Toyota Safety Sense or Lexus Safety System).

Although out of the U.S. Toyotas branding is different than here, the GX / Prado may be called "Land Cruiser" in other markets.
You can call them anything but late for dinner, but they are not Land Cruisers nor LXs by any means.
i expect at end of 2018 a new design for LX as either 2019 or 20 MY. Lexus has to redesign this and the GX. BOTH are getting outdated quick.
See the new QX80 and Lincoln navigator?
In order, Toyota "has to redesign" the Land Cruiser, then the LX. The GX is off-topic and as far as I know has zero to do with a 200 or new 300 series truck.
The GX was outdated in the North American market when 'Yota had the back door open on the wrong side.
