Default Stop tech/Brembo BBKs

Today I test drove the 2013 LX that I'll most likely will be purchasing. I loved everything about it except for the breaking and brake pedal feel. I read about this in the forums but I didn't think it was so noticeable. The distance from when you press the pedal to when the vehicle starts braking is too much. Granted the LX that I test drove needs new pads and hopefully the brakes will improve when they replace the pads.

In case the brakes don't improve, has anyone upgraded their brakes with either stop tech or Brembo BBKs? I know that this is a different crowd from the ISF and that most aren't into modding, but perhaps someone has done this upgrade and can chime in.

A few folks have done it on the Land Cruiser forum. I searched but couldn't find the pics, I suggest creating a thread there:

I replaced pads, rotors, and both rear calipers with Centric "fleet" grade parts. Rotors are unidirectional drilled and slotted, pads make you feel like you're hitting a brick wall v. oem. Easy R & R with basic tools. I vacuum bled the calipers and took it in the next day to an indy shop to have the ABS box bled completely. No complaints.

I just bought the Stoptech/TRD 6 piston set for my 2012, hasn't arrived yet (waiting on freight to Australia)

My factory front brakes were worn out and pretty toasted (needed new rotors and pads) will be keen to see how it goes (and looks too)

Nice, please let me know how you like them compared to the stock set up.

I might try something similar to get the brakes to a more confortable stopping level. It'd be cheaper as well compared to a BBK.
