Default Front Overhead Interior LED Change Out - Step By Step - Part# 2

Good evening, I have completed most of my interior LED lighting change outs. I wanted to share my experience with the forum. This thread is for the front. You will need a very small flat head screwdriver and of course replacement LED lights. I purchased Yorkim T-10 / 194 lights on Amazon here- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JRE38EA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They had great reviews and we will see how long they hold out. These game with 10 in the pack. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STARTING WITH THE DOORS FIRST. This will give you a feel for the plastic on these vehicles. They were the easiest in my experience so far. I did not start with them, but looking back it will help. I will post that change out on another thread in a few minutes. I give this a 1 beer job rating. I am doing this on a 2013 model, my spot lights were already led. Here is what I did...

1) Open the windows and close the doors. Have the led bulbs and the small flat head screwdriver in the truck. Have a paper towel or two. Have the beer in there as well.
2) You will need to gently pry down the plastic cover evenly near the tabs on the cover. They show up darker on pix 2, I posted several pictures of the cover to help.
3) Once the cover is off, simply replace them with the t-10 led lights. If they are still a little hot, use the paper towels. Test them with the cover off. If they do not light up, simply rotate the bulb 180 degrees.
4) Put the cover back on when finished.

They turned out great and they dim when shutting off like the regular ones. I will post some additional pictures when it is darker.
5) Enjoy.

I did the doors and the center overhead light. This one scared me that I was going to crack the cover. I used one at first flat head screw driver but found that using 3 works best. just work your way in slowly alternating pressure.

Thanks for sharing the procedure. As far as removing the actual bulbs, is it as simple as pulling them straight out?

Yes it's very easy.

Don't forget the running board lights too if you have them, you just reach behind and twist the bulb socket out.
