Love the rear design and interior.
BSM finally!
Not a fan of the front design at all.

not bad, but the more i look at it- the more i think picking up a low mileage lx470 just for the sake of it. i wish Lexus took the route Mercedes did with the G wagon with the LX

Seeing both my '01 LX and '13 Land Cruiser side by side, I'll guarantee the styling of the 100 series will endure and look great longer than the 200 series.

Prior to the LC purchase, I looked at '06 and '07 LX's and LC's...there's a lot out there but patience is required to find something well cared-for with maintenance records to prove it.

I will say that the '01 LX to me handles better. I had the use of a 2011 LC for a weekend, and even with the suspension set to "sport", the truck wallowed like a barge compared to the 100 series, and that's with 285-75 LT tires on the 100. As a counterpoint, the 5.7 engine in the LC hauls tail v. the 4.7, which is what I'd expect.

The LX470 handled better because its carrying a 500-600 lbs less weight all on the same wheelbase and track size. Then add in slightly trimmer dimensions and you have the answer. Add in much lager rims for the 200 and you have more.

+1

this was exactly my thought when the LX570 came out. I rushed to the dealership to trade in my 98 LX470 for one of the remaining 06 LX470.

Mercedes with the G and Porsche with the 911 figured out the formula, it is painful to see that Toyota is struggling with such a simple thing while having a far superior product in every other way.

I really like the new LX570. The first time I saw it, I thought it was hideous. Now I think it's brilliant, bold and modern. I love the cow-catcher grille...like a freight train. MINE!

Interesting. That would be great for me. Tell us more, please. Not sure why the ride and handling should be so much better. What changes did they make to the suspension? Sport+? 21" wheels? How was the 8 speed tranny?

Transmission is just like the 8 speed in my LS 460 ... Smooth as silk and light years ahead of the previous 6 speed .
Was on 20 " but the ride was so good and don't imagine the 21 s would make too much difference
. I don't know exactly what they have done to upgrade things but it is a completely different vehicle from the previous model ! I am ordering one as I originally went in for a new RX , but it felt like a bit of a let down after my LS and the saw the new LX which I fell in love with and then after driving it was sold

Thanks for the feedback. I am also looking at the new RX but if the new LX ride is that much better than my current LX, it will be hard to resist. I will drive one next week.

Just got a new 2016 LX with 21 inch alloy wheels. The ride was quite a change from my 2003 LX 470. The 2016 hugged the road and did better with the bumps. I also thought that the 2016 rode significantly better than the 2015 LX that I test drove a few weeks ago-- again, it felt more stable and also better at hugging the road smoothly. My wife thought the same thing. The salesman said that Lexus had done something different the 2016 with the suspension and alignment, but frankly I didn't understand what he was saying. There is both a Sport and Sport Plus Ride/Suspension option now-- but it seemed to be different in Comfort Mode and Sport Mode versus the 2015. I'm interested to see if others agree.

Seems like thats what a lot of people think when they first see Lexus reveal something.
