Ordered the 2008 Lexus LX570!
Congratulations!!! Sapphire Pearl, however, is not one of the colours that the LX570 will be coming in. You may have ordered Starfire Pearl (077) which is metallic white. If your intention was to order blue the correct colour is Costa Azul Pearl (08U4).
The Canadian VOS doesn't mention NightVision in either package, so hopefully that wasn't a determining factor for you in your purchasing decision.

I am new to this forum, but not to the brand. I have owned an '86 LC, a 1999 LC, and two 2001 LX 470s. After a brief diversion to a Cayenne Turbo S (just to see what 530 HP felt like in an SUV for awhile after 235 HP for 5 years), I have had a GX 470 for the past year, but I have never likes a vehicle as much as the LX 470.
Several hundred miles off road, severe winters, blistering 110 degree desert crossings, going to formal dinners--this vehicle did it all. I would be in another LX if they had the color I wanted (Savannah Metallic) but that only came in the GX.
So then the 570 was announced, I am back in the market again, and some folks on this listserve seem to have a lot more information about the vehicle than I have seen released anywhere else. Perhaps I am just missing it, but I have seen nothing about colors (except what is discussed here), the premium package(s) and what they contain, actual dates the vehicles might be in the showroom, etc.
So if anyone has more information on these subjects, it would be great to see it.
Some particular smaller questions:
1. What kind of wood (if any) will be on the "base" LX?
2. Do the rear quarter panel windows still open from the dash, or even open at all?
3. Is the self-closing rear hatch standard, or an option? Same with the folding 3rd row seats and power second row seats?
4. What is the difference between the standard (very nice) Lexus leather and the "semi-aniline" leather that appears to come on the deluxe model?
5. Are power front seat bottoms standard or do they only come with one of the option packages?
I know all of these questions will be answered shortly, but if anyone has any advance info., it would be great to hear it.
In addition, because I have had two LCs and because that information has just been released, it would be interesting to see some point-by-point comparisons of the two vehicles. Especially the pros and cons of the suspension and the (in my mind) questionable choice of 20" tires on the LX.
Thanks for any info.

Thronson,
Your post is kinda weird...you take your vehicle off-road, yet you chose GX because it had the color that you wanted??? The Land cruiser is probably better for the off-roader in you (better off-road suspension), but the LX570 is definitely more luxurious. You may want to decide soon which you need...luxury or off-road capability. Unfortunately, with the new TLC/LX570, you can't have both...as you did before with the LX450/470.

Do you know what is different (other than the usual options) between the two models?
TLC: KDSS suspension. (no air suspension)
LX470: electronic XREAS suspension + air suspension.
KDSS = large antiroll bars that can be disconnected electronically off-road. The large antiroll bars will help on-road handling by providing more roll resistance around corners. The ride may be a bit firmer on-road. Off-road, by pressing a button, you can disconnect both front and rear antiroll bars at slow speed. By doing this, the suspension can flex more, providing more traction over rocks. This is the cool feature.
XREAS = the shocks are electronically linked diagonally. For example, the front driver's shock is linked to the passenger's rear shock. This helps for on-road performance. For example, when you drive around a right hand corner, your LX will lean on the left side. The driver's front shock will compress while the passenger's rear shock extend. By sensing this, the passenger's rear shock will take it's shock fluid (since it doesn't need it) and transfer over to the driver's front side...to give it more pressure and push the driver's side up to be more level...thus, making your car more level around the corner.
XREAS was first developed for the 4runner...see: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showth...&threadid=1076. In the 4runner, the system is hydraulically based. In the LX, i think that it's electronic. XREAS does not do much for off-roading (in contrast to KDSS). XREAS is a more natural way of improving on-road handling than KDSS without firming up the ride. This makes a lot of sense because the LX570 also has air suspension that you can calibrate from soft to firm ride.
So, for the average high-lux consumer, the LX570's XREAS + air suspension are perfect since these system provide excellent ride comfort with good handling.
Besides the above differences, the TLC and LX570 have everything else the same (transfer case, electronic traction control, Crawl Control, suspension design, frame, and body).

What I meant was......the third row is not user friendly for women at all...
When I first got the GX470 I did not have the strength to put the seats up and hook them onto the sides. I had to grab my son to put them up for me.
At least this way, a woman doesn't need a man..... So what's new right???? Mr. FL.

I'm with you, i wanna know what kind of wood will be offered on the basic LX, i think it should come with that piano wood no matter what for a estimate base price of 70 grand, but yeah with you on that one

However, I do agree its nice to have that option, however no plans of that being offered on the LX 570 from what our dealer told us.
It should be arriving in a few weeks the sales manager called me today and updated me on our order....
