Wait until 2007.
Should know by this fall I think. Might have a 5.7 liter.
5.7 from the new tundra huh?? that is awesome..supposedly the numbers for that are around 360 hp and 400 something torque..
JX???
I hope they use it. The previous Tundra also used a 4.7 engine. JX was a previous model to replace the LX but Toyota cancelled the plans for it. So I think LX will stay.

Was the JX the model that was supposed to be based off the Sequoia?
Do you know what this LX replacement will look like and will it still be a twin to the Land cruiser?
Where does the info on change from JX come from?
Well, what I have heard is the Land Crusier will be retired. Lexus will stil make theres. The JX was supposed to be on a Seqoia platform but the plan was thrown in trash. New LX ,Tundra chassis maybe. Fall 2006 or spring 2007 should get a photo of it.

VAL - very strange Toyota would discontinue the LC with over 50 years of brand equity. Maybe they continue it overseas and kill in US? I may seriously have to get one of the last LCs (100 series) if that is the case. Do you feel pretty confident in your sources?

or Im wrong.
LOL
It would be a sad day not to see the Land Cruiser sold in the US. I live north of Dallas, TX in the burbs and I must say that I see at least a ratio of 5LX's to 1 TLC. According to a salesman at Toyota of Plano the GX470 is also taking a few sales away since it is at the same pricepoint. The new FJ that is now up for sale also is more along the origional philosophy of the TLC so I could see it being the FJ of the future and the LX continuing on with the new Tundra platform. I really don't want to see anything larger than the current LX/TLC though as it seems the new Tundra is just huge. Who knows what they are planning though since we are still away's out. There will be a 50th anniversary edition and then the new model change if they move along in 10 year periods for a major model change. It just amazes me that a vehicle that came out in 1997 as a 1998 model is still so competitive.

I have had my LX470 for 7 years and still looks new. Has long has they keep the LX, LC based.
DONT TRUST VAL
LOL HE IS FROM THE SEA!
YOU HAVE EVERYONE FOOLED
ROFL
Toyota is keeping the LX under a cloak of secrecy. The 50th Anniversary should be the last 100 series. Don't take my word for it. Just wait and see. I don't even know.! This info is from a friend who has a friend in Toyota, LOL.
