Default Car Stereo dead? Rebuild Service?

A couple days ago my infotainment screen went dark on my 2017 LX570

When I shift into reverse, the cameras come up. They do not come up when I slow down to park, they previously did.

There is no sound, phone doesnt connect to bluetooth, no rear seat entertainment

HVAC physical buttons function but no HVAC controls on screen

When I press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, the Lexus and Enform screens come up but then the screen goes dark again.

Any ideas whats wrong? If the radio is dead, do I buy used? or do I send my radio out for repair? Where?

Thanks

Sounds like it may be a failure of the Mark Levinson amplifier. It is under the carpet beneath the driver’s seat and the location makes it susceptible to both heat damage and water damage. The Lexus - Levinson contract prevents Lexus from repairing the unit. All they can do is sell you a new one for well north of $1000, plus labor. If you remove it yourself, you can have it tested and rthen repaired for around $600. A search of this forum will give you the place to ship your unit to. I’ve had to do this twice. Once from heat, as there is no air circulation for the unit where Lexus chose to install it. The second time was water because I leftb a window open and the unit is in a well in the flooru and gravity causes any water to collect there.

Turns out it was the head unit… apparently they all eventually fail in the manner mine did.

sent it to a shop in NY and it was returned in a couple days. Local shop wanted $2250 to repair it. Shop in NY was a fraction of that.

supposedly it will not fail in the same manner moving forward.

also installed a Hamilton touch screen carplay setup when reassembling the car. Very happy with the results!
