need help pricing service
Good evening new to Lexus (2020 LX)
it looks like i need an oil change and possible tire rotation. i also may need a brake job (not rotors) does any one have any idea of dealer pricing for these things versus a regular shop?
thank you

Oil change and tire rotation should be under $150. Brakes can vary quite a bit but I'd guess $250-ish per axle for just pads and labor. For basic tasks like oil changes and brakes, any reputable shop will be fine. I'm not a fan of my local Lexus dealer so I go to the Toyota dealership (20 minutes away) for stuff like this and to an independent Lexus specialty shop (2 hours away) for bigger stuff.
Dealer pricing can be all over the map. They will often discount oil changes to bring you in and try to upsell on other services. Oil is expensive and the LX takes almost 8 quarts so almost $80 just in oil. Call the dealer and ask, sometimes they are pretty good, I just had the coolant flushed and it was reasonable, around $200. If you ask a shop find out what parts they are using, 90% of the time they will use after market, insist on OEM, esp. brakes.I was going through brakes every 30-40 miles because my shop was using cheapo after market rotors and pads thinking they doing me a favor by saving me money. Now I have them use OEM everything. 1/2 the time OEM is less expensive, 100% of the time OEM is better. Biggest variable is the labor charge.
Tire rotation should be around $50-60 at most shops. Depending where you buy your tires, a place like discount tire will give your free rotation for the life of the tires.
It's tough to give an accurate answer because things change so much and prices only go up, esp. now.
