Shock absorber replacement
2016 LX 570 with 125,000 miles. Original shocks. Ride rougher and noisier over time. I’m fortunate to have an excellent independent garage. They noticed some leakage from rear shocks. I decided to go with Lexus replacements. It’s a labor intensive job requiring front end alignment and AHC system bleed. Rides like new again. Should have done it sooner.
Questions:
When did you replace shocks?
Did you go with original equipment or conventional shocks and disable the automatic height control?

The stock shocks only need to be replaced when leaking. Otherwise they are working correctly. Most LXs will need to replace the accumulator globes before having to replace the shocks.
There are a few people who have gone through the process of replacing the AHC with aftermarket systems but there is a lot involved with removing the complete AHC system and a process to go through to disable it so you aren't throwing codes.
