I had to replace the transfer case actuator on my 2017 LX570. The service rep told me this component actuates the shift from 2wd to 4wd. I am confused by this since my understanding is that the LX570 is in 4wd all the time. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks!

 

It shifts the transfer case from 4hi to 4 low.

 

Was your svc rep @ a Lexus dealership or an Independent Shop? I would not want them to work on the vehicle due to false (and WRONG) information

 

Thanks for your response and recommendation! Unfortunately we do not have a Lexus dealership nearby so I have been getting service at Toyota. I will consider alternatives.
