Default Can the third seat be removed permanently?

I am looking at buying a 2021 LX 570, dealer says it can't be removed. Thoughts?

2015 LX.
I just removed mine two weeks ago and bought a Land Cruiser Heritage all-weather rear cargo mat from the Toyota dealership ($54 July 4th special - made for Land Cruiser w/o 3rd row) and it's perfect.

hi- is yours a 2015 (I see this in your reply)? I ask as I have a 2011 and would love to remove mine. Could you post pics? Was this super involved (I'm not handy)? Could a novice do it? I'll check mud forum too as I recall seeing posts about it but it's been a while.

Also considering selling my 2011 LX and 2021 X7 and consolidating cars and buying a 2021 LX but 3rd row is holding me back (I want all the Luxury options). If there is a decent way to remove and it doesn't rip up the car maybe this could be an option for me!

Yes, I have a 2015. I'm very handy, so it's hard to comment on how 'easy' it is, but it's pretty easy. It's four 14mm bolts per side. Here's a video on youtube that shows someone removing theirs.

If you're in Houston, I'm happy to help you remove it.

Best,
Mark

Thank you this looks doable! Regarding the mat you ordered from Toyota... The Heritage was the 2021 yr correct? So you ordered a 2021 "heritage" cargo mat? If you have a chance, could you check for the part # on the mat? Someone posted them in other posts but I don't think it's the one you ordered. Thanks, you've been very helpful!
