Default 2014 LX - Sudden stiff steering...help

Hi guys, been driving my LX 2014 model for 3 years now...
In the past week, I started to feel the car shake a bit whenever I steer towards to right in a bend and then yesterday all of a sudden the steering became real hard when turning especially towards the right. Something ain't quite right!

I'm taking it to get looked at next week as I'm scared to drive it and damage something badly but just want some advice from you folks on what you think it might be?

PS there is also a weird sound coming from the engine when the car is iddle, almost like something is rumbling gently but not a sound that is reassuring to hear at all.

Any thoughts?

the absolute first thing is to make sure there is power steering fluid in the pump!

also find the power steering pump, and make sure the drive belt has not fallen off of the pulley.

Thanks a lot. So far I've added steering fluid which has made the steering a bit better. Will get someone to help me with your other suggestion.

Why would the car shake though...especially when slowing down?

just get it diagnosed properly... shouldn't be that bad...like the OP said, likely leaning towards the PS pump assembly.... best would be the belt but not likley based on your symptom / noise / vibration.
