Horn on except when ignition is turned

Horn on except when ignition is turned
Here's an interesting scenario.
Last night my 04 LX 470 horn went off on its own with the car parked in the driveway. The horn honked with the key out of or in the ignition. But...stopped as soon as the ignition was turned.
The key remote buttons have no effect on the issue.
The alarm indicator light stops blinking as soon as the key is inserted in the ignition but the horn continues.
At this point, I disconnected the horns.
I doubt there is a short, because of the fact that the honking stops as soon as the key is turned.
Any thoughts?
