Default Button in front Cupholder (2001)

I have searched through my owners manual and have not been able to find out what the button inside the front cupholders is for.
Does anyone here know?
Thank you.

My '01 doesn't have a button in the cup holder.

Why don't you pull up on the cup holder, remove it, and see where the wires from the button end up?

Please report back with what you find, as I'm now concerned someone may have removed the button in my truck.

You don't have a button inside the cupholders because there IS NO button inside the front cup holders. Why would there be haha.

Sounds like someone jimmy rigged the OP's truck and installed some aftermarket switch for something in a very odd place I may add.

Thats odd because to me the button looks stock. Nothing lights up or seems to turn on when pressed. I will post a pic.

As usual, sarcasm sometimes blows by some people at the speed of sound.

97-SC300 pointed out that NO LX has a button in the cup holder...what would we see by looking at the button?

Step 1. Lift the center divider from the cup holder and set it aside.

Step 2. Lift the cup holder straight up to disengage the clips that hold it to the console.

Step 3. Trace the wires to where they end up.

Step 4. Take a picture of what you find in Step 3 and we'll try to figure out why it was installed.

Would you mind posting a pic. Very curious as to what the button is for?

Here is the button I am talking about. I will take it apart this weekend and get back with my findings.
