My mom's LX has had a transmission issue where when cruising in top gear, it would stay in top gear even when slowing down so when you accelerate again its very slow since it didnt down shift. There wasnt a check engine light and its intermittent and cant be reproduced at will. Has anyone had an issue like this? I will hook up my OBD2 scanner later tonight to check if theres anything. Also the way to reset it is to park and restart it and it goes away for a while.

 

How many miles? Has the transmission been serviced and if so when and how? Full fluid exchange? Drain and fill? Flush? I agree eliminate any electrical issues first.

 

120000 miles, I did a full transmission fluid exchange and the fluid levels checked out
