Hi,I own a 2002 lx 470. The diff lock does not seem to be working.when i press the lock switch on the dash,I can hear the relay click,but the diff lock light does not glow.(tried driving it with the switch pressed,the lock is definitely not engaged). Where could the problem lie.?recently changed the hydraulic brake booster.don't know if that is significant.any help would be appreciated.

 

The way the electronic locker works, there's a little motor on the diff lock (about where the wire plugs in). It's been a while since I've looked at one, but that motor has a rod in it that turns a gear in that silver, cylindrical looking thing under the diff lock motor. Often what happens is sand and grit enter that via the breather tube and gums up the gear. The remedy is to disassemble the unit and clean it out. This works most of the time.
