Default GPS Replacement

Have an 02 LX470 with no disc error. Been reading about replacing or upgrading to gen 3 or 4 but it seems like just buying a Magellan, tom tom or garmin is a lot less expensive for a much better product with free lifetime updates. Anyone else make the switch? Pros/Cons?

Really? No one has gone to an aftermarket GPS?

Went to a Never Lost GPS running through a "direct from Asia" 7 inch Double Din screen in 2003, moved to a Kenwood DNX 8120 (Garmin) about 4 years ago. Never looked back. Denso navs leave much to be desired. Not to mention the significant enhancements (BT, DVD, etc).
