Common problem on all model lexus driven a lot. My 2001 LX has 70k and the navigation unit is working fine.

Do a search and your options will become clear.

it could be as easy as disk eject and re-insert, battery disconnect, dvd lens cleaning etc. or major like taking apart the Denso unit to replace motor etc. Folks have got by with lubricating the DVD unit's internal parts.

Dealer will probably want over $1000 for replacing with a rebuilt unit from Denso.

Here is another link with lots of info. It is from the sc430 group but should apply.

I have an 02 LX470 with the same issue. Has anyone upgraded their GPS to a newer unit, like gen3 or gen4?
