Hi
The lights that turn on inside when the headlamps are on won't turn on. The little wheel that is supposed to make them brighter does nothing. I checked the users manual and looked at the 2 instrument panel fuses (#15 & #30) and they seem ok

The car is 04 lx470

What do I check next.

pull the plastic trim above the steering wheel off, and make sure the connector is plugged into the wheel. Did you check your parking lights work? Check TAIL fuse.

Sorry to drag up this old thread....

I have the same issue.

instrument panel lights are off, all other lights are working fine. check Fuse #15, it's blown, replace fuse and gets blown right away. fuse #31 is still intact..
Then i noticed that when I turn the headlights on, the instrument cluster do not dim as they should, neither does the NAV screen. Seems like the dimmer is malfunctioning.
anyone has any idea if just the dimmer switch is the culprit. How do i test the dimmer? Please help. thanks.
