Default lower cladding paint color code for 2000 LX470?

My local Lexus dealer says he is out of stock and it would take 2-3 weeks to get in. I'd like to touch up the car sooner than that (to sell it), but the door jamb sticker only has the paint code for the upper body (mine is cashmere beige 4M9). Anyone know what the lower cladding paint code might be, or where I can find it?

Thanks in advance.

they cant overnight it like they used to because the touchup paint is considered HAZ-MAT now a days. So when your dealership orders it, the batch of paints gets made, then ground shipped. Takes forever I know.

Which dealership you using? Check with greenwich, they might have it in stock.

It is Greenwich, and they didn't have the lower cladding paint. Nice thing though about the top-side cashmere beige...they were down to their last bottle, but because it had been opened and used a bit, I guess by the service dept, he gave that one to me for free.

May I suggest going to a bodyshop and see if they'd mix you up a small bit? I did that so my touchup matches my matte paint. You'd get the advantage of two stage, base/clear that would end up looking much better.

Thanks, I didn't realize that was an option. Do they do the mix from the forumla for the paint code, or do they actually take a paint chip and work from that? The cashmere beige touchup paint from my Lexus dealer isn't a very good match for my car...it seems darker and doesn't have as many metallic flecks as the original finish.

They use the code, not a sample. Well at least that's the easiest way. The reason the stuff they have at the dealer sucks is because it is a single stage paint that really wasn't meant to perfectly match, just mask. If you gve the bodyshop your paint code they can pull up the cladding code. I just called them to get the cladding code but nobody felt like answering in the parts dept.

The two stage way, if you go to a body shop will match much better plus give you the ability to sand down the base coat so you can clear a nice smooth surface.

You going to get a newer LX?

Thanks very much for the info. For the lower cladding, since I don't have the paint code, I don't think I can order up a batch at a bodyshop. Though I may well get some cashmere beige based on what you say about the match likely being better.

For a long time I thought I'd get an LX, but my wife recently went back to work and so is dis-involving herself somewhat from Girl Scouts and such, leaving us with less need for more than 5 seats. The kids have wanted to go green, and I prefer to spend less on gas. So I'm picking up an RX450h tomorrow. Now that I think of it, I can try for the lower cladding paint at that dealer, in NJ. Stupid me for not thinking of that before!

Another reason for the RX...my son will be driving 3.5 years from now, and I think it is harder for a beginner to drive something that is wider and taller, like the LX. I found CT dealer to be overpriced compared to others in the NYC area.

Anyway, thanks again for the bodyshop idea...I may use it for the cashmere beige.

I learned to drive with my LX470.....just sayin'. Just about the most planted vehicle I've ever driven in the snow too.

the paint code for the lower cladding with 4m9 as the body color would be UCA46. The part number is a bit different 00258-00C14-21. If you were in DC area i could give you one.

Angry Cladding paint nbr

I found my dealer to be very helpful providing me with the paint number for my ES300 YR2000 cladding gray. My problem, however, is that paint has been discontinued and I haven't been successful locating another source. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Like I mentioned about the LX, your local bodyshop.
