Default Check Engine Light LX 450

Yesterday after running my car down low (the light came on) on fuel I filled it halfway and then got on the freeway. 5 minutes later the CEL came on.

Based on suggestions on the message board I went to autzone and used the diagnostic tool on it and the code came up as a PO401. The code book at autozone listed this as EGR valve problem and suggested that I change it out.
The part wasn't in so I ordered it for $160 manufactured by Wells. It should be in tomorrow.

It looks easy enough to change out, but I admit I'm mechanically challenged. My questions for the message board are:

Is it easy to change out?
Is Wells a good name or should I go to Lexus/Toyota?
Is $160 a good price?

Oh, I forgot I reset the code before leaving and in the 3 miles back to home the light did not come on.

'96 LX 450 with 84,995 miles, stock.

Thanks for your help.
