At least for pre '06 LC/LX's, the LX also has
-hydraulic height adjustment and shocks w/ adjustable dampening (comfort to sport). This
is an option on the '06 LC but has been standard on the LX from '98.
-LX has memory seats, LC doesn't
-LX has automatically retracting power steering wheel
-LX has cladding over the lower half of the doors, helps protect from dings
-LX has a cabin air filters (2 filter elements), LC's never had them. Some LC's have the slot to hold the filters, but filter never came with them despite what some of the LC literature might have said.
-LX has projector low beam & fogs, LC doesn't. LX turning signal/backup lights are different.
-LX has better sound insulation
-LX has higher quality leather
-LX windows/moonroof can be operated by the remote key
-LX has auto air quality sensor that switches ventilation to recirc of exhaust fumes are about to enter the cabin. This only works when you don't turn off the AC manually (i.e., AC or auto mode below 39F).

LC has VGRS from '03 on just like the LX. Early LC's (98-99) had no rear LSD, but had an optional locker. Early LC's hadno rear air (none on 98, opt on 99, standard after that). LX has always had it.

Default Remote opening

Jim,

How does the "operate windows/sunroof " from the remote work? I have a 99 LX-and don't remember that as an option.

The personalized settings, I believe, work on all the '98+'s, but you may not get all the settings. I know my '03 has the same settings availble on the '06 (pdf on the lexus site describes the 06 settings, had the dealer customize them). IIRC, you hold down the unlock button on the remote for like 4+ sec and the windows should open and moonroof open simultaneously. This is the default factory setting.

Default longer

TLC is longer by .5" than LX 470
Doubt that is significant in interior volume.

Although it is only .5", exteriorly, the TLC looks better proportioned than the shorter LX470.

Except for the front hood/grille area and front bumper, the body panels/presses for the LC and LX are the same. The front quarter panels are identical; you can even swap the LC/LX corner running lights if you rewire them properly (LC corner light is a dual filament, also acts as a turning signal). I bet that extra 0.5" is in the front bumper cover. I do prefer having the front grille attached to the hood rather than permanently fixed. Reason is, it makes it a lot easier to do clean out the radiator/AC condensors or to flush the ATF by pulling the hoses in/out of the ATF cooler.

If the LC has AHC, they should both ride the same. We didn't get the LC w/ AHC until '06 while the rest of the world had it for years. I haven't ridden in a vehicle w/o AHC, so I can't say what the OEM LC ride is like.

My '98 LX had the longer roof rails, I think starting in '99 the LX got the shorter roof rails supposedly for less wind noise.
