Default Driver side mirror

After having the driver side mirror replaced on my 06 LX, today my service advisor told me the driver's side does not tilt down as far as the passenger side when the vehicle is placed in reverse. Never noticed this before, but my last 4 Lexus have been sedans--don't know if this is true for all SUV's. Anyone have any personal knowledge with this & would appreciate it if any of you go put your LX in reverse and see if the passenger side is still tilting down when the driver's side stops?

Sidgriggs: No way in hell your new '06 should have these issues... I recall my '99 LS400 had the same issue back in 2002. I called Lexus Customer Care, cos my car was then out of warranty. Lexus had a TSB for the 1998 LS400 and they then applied this to my '99. Lexus fixed it free. Parts for $400. I paid nada. Now at 110K miles, no problem with this fix.

On my 2003 LX470, the mirror tilts in Reverse everytime, as long as your mirror setting is set at "L". If the driver side does not tilt or return as the passenger side, get Lexus to fix it, or replace the car for you. If I had a brand new $70K LX470, it should not have these issues..... and I'd be plenty mad at Lexus...

no no no thats not what he was saying that it has a problem...

The Passanger side mirror tilts down lower to be able to see the curb easier. The left side doesnt go down as much on the Lexus mirrors. Thats how my 2005 LS430 is and how my LX470 was b4 the mirrors started messing up with that TSB that came out. hope i helped.
