Default TRD supercharger installed

Got boost??

You betcha

I can only kick myself for not doing this years ago but I finally got the LX as a hand me down from my wife. We needed to keep it around to pull the camper so when she got the new LS...I was given the green light for the supercharger.

It rocks.

Dave, obviously these units are hard to find new as TRD pulled their factory authorized upgrade from the market over a year ago. How were you able to locate one, or did you buy one used?

I have a source for the 98-02 units. Brand new.

They pop up on ebay as well. 3300-3900 brand new. If you think about it....for a brand new unit that is a good price.

I will get you all some pics.

Yes, what does it include? Assuming it is a centrifugal type supercharger? Does it include any type of fuel management?

Shady,

Do a search on TRD Supercharger kits. This is a roots style supercharger kit complete with piggy back ECU and 9th injector included. Fuel mgmt, 9th injector, supercharger, all pulleys, brackets, thermostat and piggyback ecu included.

Bolt on and plug in.

Alex,

Sorry, no dyno time planned here. I have too many other tuned projects that if I need the dyno I will have to take one of my other cars. Turbo Supra, Turbo Celica alltrac, STI.....honestly, unless you need power bragging rights the dyno is somewhat a waste. Well, maybe only if your building a standalone system for a new platform. Then the dyno does come in handy

I was able to run some drive time with the Toyota OBDII scan tool. Verify the correct timing curve, verfiy adequate fueling and stick a boost gauge to see if the boost controller is mapped properly. It was not and I will take off the dumb GM delco solenoid TRD put in there to control boost.

Booost, timing then fuel=happy tune.

I think that's why they add the ninth injector as part of the kit.
