Default LED Daytime Running Light project

I was going to wait until I installed them but I figured why not get some suggestions along the way. I travel often so it may take me a few weeks before I can get everything installed. Hopefully not too long. Also, if anyone else has done a similar project please feel free to post pics and/or instructions.

As some I am sure have seen I was posting some info in the thread below but I don't want to continue the discussion in a new thread.

The two products I purchased are Toyota Techstream mini VCI kit to turn off the factory DRL's / personalize my car as I like it and the a Phillips LED DRL kit.

Position wise. I like the idea that they be as far apart as possible. The vents right next to the fog lights seems perfect but they may be too small without a little modification. They will fit in the center vents I am sure.

Edit: The other thing I noticed too is that since I have laser cruise that eats up about 5 inches of center lower vent area on the passenger side.

I was looking at the same Techstream, but it won't work with 64-bit operating system.

Yeah. I'm just going to install a 32 bit version of Windows 7 via Mac emulation for the software. You can always dual boot a pc as well.

Is there any opportunity with the foglights?

I want to do the same thing but keep the overall look of the vehicle. So I bought a pair of japanese foglights (2 bulbs sockets).

Glad to see someone doing this to a Briarwood pearl LS, I will know how it looks

I also ordered my techstream VCI kit 2 weeks ago from Amazon. I hate DRL's

Installed the Phillips kit today at a friends house. The location may change but It is good for now. Installing them at the fog light vents was my intention but requires a lot more work to get them in there. Something I did not have time to do. They are so easy to mount properly.

The kit puts out a lot of light. If you are right in front they are very bright even in daylight. Having the laser cruise also effects my placement as it east up 6 inches of that lower grill area. Honestly, I still think the brake duck at the fog lights would be the best place but this requires a lot more work then I wanted to do right now. Overall, I'm happy, they are hidden and pretty clean. The kit is very nice.
