Default New pictures. Custom Grill.

Took out the factory grill. Used mesh to cover up the area. Used the factory screw holes to hold the mesh. Will finish it off with an LS emblem or something similar in the lower right hand corrner.

Also finished the fog light mod but was too bright out to get the full affect. Will update with night pictures.

and just showing off haha....

Nice job installing.
How rigid is this mesh that you used?

The mesh I used was very rigid actually. Got it from a friend not sure where he got it. Any mesh with some rigidity should work.

Heres a brief overview what I did:
1)Take off grill from car -(should be I think three bolts to hood and two for bottom brackets. Also two holding lever mechanism to hood.
2)Take off factory insert for grill- should be four bolts on top and four bottom, two of which should already be off because there used in unison with bracket to hold grill to hood.
Some of the screws can be a pain to take off. I was lucky and didn't strip any.
3)Lay grill surround on soft surface facing down. Lay over mesh and push down and work mesh to shape. (Takes awhile)
Continue and obeserve front until your happy. I found this gave the mesh a nice contour similar to factory and not just flat.
4)Trim mesh around grill... or I should have thought of doing this...screw mesh in using factory holes so its held in place THEN trim around.
5) Mount lever (to open hood) to the mesh. (I left this out because it shows up through mesh so much).
6)Finish trimming by checking fitment and reinstall.
7)Add emblems if wished.

I was going to do this a while back myself. You might want to try adding some dark screen door screening to the back of the mesh. It might darken it a bit so you wouldn't see the internals as much making it a little more stealthy.

What color is the mesh, I can't really tell from the pics?

The mesh is actually painted flat black.
Yes, I hate the fact that you can see into it.
I might experiment with different mesh. The wire on this one is kinda thin with bigger weaves. That or just throw the factory on. I love reversible mods.

I didn't use it, couldn't figure out a way where it would still look good, hence I put the factory one back on haha.
