Default 2019 LS500 - do I need a PPI?

Hi - I am considering trading in my 2019 RCF for a 2019 LS500. The car has 40K miles and is still under warranty with a clean carfax. Do I need a mechanical purchase inspection if the car is still under warranty? I think it was a lease return. Or, do I basically just need to check if was not repainted, etc? I could probably have a Lexus dealer inspect it.
Thanks in advance!

If you are not buying it from a Lexus dealer, I would have it checked out.

Always get a PPI. Don’t trust any dealer and car faxes do not catch everything.

That's probably a smart move. I scheduled a PPI with a Lexus dealer. The car was a lease in HI and was brought to continental US recently. You can't pull a build sheet up from anywhere, including drivers.lexus.

most important either swing buy on a test drive a body shop or buy a amazon paint meter and make sure the used car wasn't painted or hit.
people miss this as the most important step, when they buy used and find out one or two panels have been painted that's not on carafe they lose 7500 on resale due to it painted
good luck

I bought my 2018 LS500 from a Lexus dealer, used. It worked out fine, I did not get an inspection. But it only had ~4,000 miles on it....

Were any of the panels painted?

Yes, this already happened to me. I got a jag XFR demo with almost no miles. Turns out it was a Jaguar press car, someone lost control on the track and the entire car was resprayed. I threatened to sue since they failed to disclose this. They bought the car back from me.

There were no damage claims on the car / VIN. Paint looked great everywhere no indication of overspray or any work.

Considering the mileage, which is 40k (average for a 2019), the driver’s seat is a little worn. I recall from my past LS (460 2012) how little wear it had after similar mileage. Is this generation more prone to wear and tear than previous LS models? The robustness of the 460 was amazing. It also didn’t have such a fancy seat. This particular car is as loaded as they came I think..

What is the thickness of the paint on each panel?
