I had a 2021 ES luxury for 3 weeks; I put over 1000 miles on it. My car was in service and waiting for a part; the ES can fool anyone from inside as the dash etc looks much like the current LS500. It does drives very good - much better than the older ES (tad sporty too). I was very impressed as on how far the ES has come.
But the LS460 still drives alot better/ the floaty feeling on the LS actually helps with the imperfections on the road more isolated smoother. I dare say that the current ES as some feel to the current LS as far as ride quality is there (sporty factor) it turns fast, handles great etc. on my last LS460 I put in 145k with 0 issues, absolutely amazing.
I guess end of the day it just personal but I absolutely love the LS460 L / any model after 2013+ I was looking to pick one of these up but. the prices are 10K more these days than earlier in the year.

The LS air suspension feels just a touch floaty at times but is overall great. I found the ES suspension very close to the LS but way better than any other average suspension setup in terms of ride quality.
THANK YOU ALL ! I drive a 2012 LS460 which I bought CPO in 2014. I consider it the perfect car and absolutely love it. However, I've never kept a car for 7 (almost 8) years, so I sometimes think about the LS 500. Happy to know that the grass is not much greener on the other side.
I had a 2015 LS 460 and the new 500 while i love the design and look of the inside and outside i am not happy with the stiff sporty overall feel to the car and the lag in power driving around the city. Its fast in a straigth line but thats about it. Also the removal of controls for the seat heat and air flow direction is annoying. Like other said i doubt i would buy another LS that drives like this . The LS is not suppsed to drive like an IS or some other type like that.

I just set all the seat heating to Auto via the Climate concierge and there is no need to adjust t!

agreed. Set it and forget it. Turns on heated steering, wheel, ventilated seats, etc automatically. Only thing I need to touch is the temp dial as needed.
my gripes: BSM doesn’t make any audible indication, can’t close the trunk from the inside (which is odd cuz the thing is powered). Outside of that, it’s been a great ride, esp since changing out the run-flats. Miss a V8 sound, but power is never lacking. Car feels “fluid”, not boaty. Honestly, I’m a bit confused to hear all the complaints. My first LS, so not experienced with the previous gens’ ride. I like the sportiness of this model, esp compared to my previous w221 S550.

Are you able to set the BSM to audio via the settings?
Came from a 2011 ls460 sport and have a 2018 ls500 f sport. My wife drives it mainly and she loves it over the 460. We had air ride on the 460 but coils on the 500. It’s not as smooth as the air ride on the highway but i switched the run flats to Michelins 4s and they ride great.
i believe there’s a transmission tsb update. We had the tech apply whatever ecu/tcu there was and we both noticed it shifted different, for the better.
Having the sport, i believe the seats are different. It took me a long time to figure out all the adjustments to get it comfortable.
When i drive it, I’m usually in sport or sport + mode and yes it doesn’t have the initial grunt as our previous 460 but the turbos do generate smiles per gallon. Have had a few turbo cars so maybe I’m used to the lag?
will i buy another one? Possibly. But coming from a e63 amg, I’m starting to miss it. Of course a different car but she drives it and loves it so that’s all that matters to me.
Im 35 if that matters. Maybe the “young buck” in the group. Lol

I was 33 when I had my LS 500. I enjoyed it a lot.
