2018 LS500 front passenger area rattle
Hello All,
I'm new to the CL Forum. Just bought a Certified 2018 LS500 from a Lexus dealer. Car only had 22000 miles on it. Problem: loud, high-frequency rattle from the front passenger area (seems to come from behind the glove box) which comes into play above 50mph. Very noticeable on the freeway. Anybody else have this problem and if so---where did rattle come from? Arrowhead Lexus in Peoria, AZ spent an entire day on the problem and hasn't solved it yet. Thanks.

I haven't heard of that but does the sound increase the faster you go? I wonder if the cabin air filter is not seated correctly, or the door cover for it is missing? Just a total guess here. I would look there first. Second my guess would be the cowl trim at the base of the windshield, something in that area. I had a cowl rattle on my Prius years ago and it only happened on hot days when the plastic expanded from heat.
LS500Fan,
Thanks so much for the help. Problem found: Paint shop at Keyes Lexus/Van Nuys, CA took bumper off for cosmetic repairs and proceeded to leave out parts and fasteners---go figure!? At highway speeds the bumper started to flutter. Parts and fasteners installed and now good. Thanks again for the help.

Hi,
Just bought my 2018 Certified LS500 with only 22000 miles from a Lexus dealer. One rattle problem was just fixed but now I have a new problem. The cabin, as we all know, is very quiet and any "unwanted" sound can be easily heard assuming the radio is off. I get a "raspy" kind of sound coming from the front middle and front passenger air vents with the A/C on, but the driver side vent is quiet---? It kind of sounds like someone with pneumonia or some lung ailment. You can hear it on lower fan settings over the normal "push" of the air flow. Any ideas? Thanks.
