Interesting, has anyone seen one with it yet. I decided to price a new LS just to see the options, saw that digital rearview mirror was an option.

There was a Japanese spec LS 500 at the Ride and Drive Dealer event when the 2018 LS was introduced.
Careful to tell us that the Digital Backup Camera was "a long way off". The inside mirror itself was 20% bigger
and had very square corners, normal mirror view until you engaged reverse. Stereo cameras on the trunk lid
stitched together for an surreally clear view.

 

My RAV4 Prime has it, that's all I use now. It works really well.

 

Anybody have a video of it in action by chance.

 

Has anyone actually purchased a 2021 yet?

 

I think some have, but not even dealer knew about this feature or that it could be added.

 

This is a 2021 LS 500, look at the resolution and brightness difference between the traditional in-dash Backup Camera view
and the windshield mounted "mirror" view! Adjustable and automatic, it is an odd sensation when you grab the mirror housing
and pivoting it does not change the view. Flipping the "day/night" lever turns off the cameras and you have a traditional dead mirror.
Surprisingly the "DM" Digital Mirror option is only $200!

 

Nice. That’s a no brained option there. Anyone see if it can be installed for pre 2021s?

 

Dang that thing looks so cool, wish I had that.
