Default Key fob problem

Just got a new LS a few days ago. Occasionally the car will fail to start by pressing the start button with my finger. I then get an error message telling me to press the start button with the key directly. Sometimes it takes multiple presses with the key before it starts. Very unLexus like. The dealer said they only see that problem if the key battery is low so they replaced the battery to see if that helped. No change. They suggested keeping the key further from my phone so my phone wouldn’t interfere with key signal to the start button. They did some kind of diagnostic test and everything was fine. Increasing separation seems reduce the problem but so far has not eliminated it. It seems like my next step is to get replacement keys and see if that eliminates the problem. I just moved up from an ES and am very happy with the car otherwise.

I would really appreciate any insight you can provide since the dealer doesn’t have a fix.

Interesting, I never experienced this, when I used the key I usually kept it in my pocket. I currently use the credit card key and haven't had an issue with that. I would say maybe the keyfob is bad, hopefully they replace the keyfob for you.

Try keeping your key fob in your right front pocket. I sometimes see this issue on and LS500, GX460 and ES350 if the key fob is in my left pocket.

We've experienced this same issue with our 2022. It always coincides with starting the car with the app.
