Default Steering Wheel Control Brightness

My first posted question, although I've been using this site for many years, including all the necessary instructions to replace the ML failed amp (twice) and sub woofer in my 2004 LS430 years ago. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Can anyone tell me how (or whether it's even possible) to increase the brightness of the steering wheel control buttons without increasing the brightness of the instrument cluster? I know about the controls on the dash, but when the steering wheel brightness is sufficient, the instrument cluster is way too bright. When the instrument cluster is at a good level, the steering wheel buttons are very dim. I could probably read them just fine with my reading glasses on, but somehow driving with those on doesn't project the image of a guy that's focusing on the road!!

Also - There were plenty of tips/tricks/hidden menu information available online for my old 2004 LS430 - does anything like that exist for the newer LS series?

Thanks!!!
