As an LS500 owner I see pros and cons. Pros are the touchscreen and quick access button to the heated seat/steering wheel screen although I would have preferred buttons like the ES. I also like the new Highway Teammate stuff since I also have a Tesla with the latest Autopilot, this is good that other manufacturers are "upping" their game.

Cons. The new headlights make it look cheaper IMHO. The LS is the flagship car and they make it look like the cheapest (new) IS. Oh well that's what companies tend to do. I also don't like that the touchscreen is floating out in space, it's so nicely embedded in the dash on my '18. I also dislike that the trim near the radio controls will now be glossy black plastic. ALL gloss black plastic should be removed from every car. It's just a dust and fingerprint magnet. What they have now is much more premium looking.

The new grey camouflage fabric on the doors, not my taste but that is subjective.

I just seen the LS facelift. I think I prefer the current LS headlights. But the car looks sharp!

I have to agree, I'm not sure what Lexus was thinking, its like they didn't listen anything many customers were saying. I think that the lights were a bad choice and the fabric on the door is terrible seems like a bad decision but I'll wait to see what it looks like, I wouldn't trade mine in anyways.

Well for the headlights I think they are just trying to make all their cars look the same. Can't say that's necessarily a good thing but that's what carmakers seem to be doing these days. Have you seen Mercedes? Can't tell any of them apart by looking at the front end.

They *did* listen to customers by improving off-the-line torque for the gas and hybrid models. I know I dislike the slight lag off the line, I'm sure that could be fixed up with an ECM program on mine but that won't happen. I drove an ES as a loaner for an afternoon and peeled out the first time I got hard on the gas, I couldn't believe how much better it was off the line.

They also listened to customers by putting in the touchscreen. Pretty much everyone complains about the lack of a touchscreen and then they put it in but it doesn't "flow". If they redesigned the dash to make it fit in that would have been better received, I think.

They also listened to customers by trying to improve the ride quality through minor changes, but I think the limiting factor is the run-flat tires from the factory. As long as those are on the car there will be some compromise. I don't have runflats anymore so I'm not to worried there.

Other than that the black plastic trim is a downgrade IMHO. I hope they didn't drop the tan or brown coloured interiors, I don't want black or white.

I likely would not upgrade to this refresh 2021 model but if they came out with a plugin hybrid version with the next redesign (I'm anticipating 2023 or 2024) I'd be all over that in a heartbeat.

I actually wouldn't want a softer riding LS. It's a good blend of sporty and comfort. I don't like the headlights either.

Looks like lipstick on a pig.
Its time to completely redesign the LS into a proper luxury car. Make the GS a sport sedan.

Well, they have successfully made it worse. Copying the "tablet taped to dash" look of BMW/everyone else and making the front end look cheap.

Still no real engine too.

Until they bring back the large interior it's not an LS to me. I reluctantly bought a BMW 750i because I couldn;t come to accept the shortcomings of the current LS. Hopefully they will come to their senses and make the LS a true luxury car and the GS (or it's replacement the larger sport model.. I know the BMW will be way more expensive to maintain but I got the 7 yr warranty and when that is up the car will go

Ugh - what did they do!? 97-98, 03-04, 09-10 were all a massive step forward. Looks like I won't be getting a 7th LS

agreed. Even if functional, looks out of place here.

I will say, however, I like the front plastic inserts at each corner of the front air dam. The pattern matches better than the current gen; matches the grill. Maybe this is a direct plug and play?

If your talking about the vent opening on the fender, it's a sensor for semi-autonomous driving features at least the hybrid model will have.

It's funny, I scrolled through all the pics and some cars had the side vents and some didn't.

And I don't know, I guess I have to see the car in the flesh, but I like the look of the headlights.
