Default New Tires

I bought my LS to drive. I had 22000 miles when the Tire Recall came.Knoxville Lexus insisted on Run Flat replacements. I allowed it. After 48,000 miles my tires were worn out on the inside. I replaced with Michelin Primacy.
WOW. NOW I have a nice driving and riding car, like I thought I was buying. I WILL NEVER USE RUN FLAT TIRES AGAIN. I will likewise never allow a dealer to insist on anything again.

I do have a few other items to get off my chest so here goes.
The Nav system is pitiful. Why on earth do we pay thousands of $ for inferior Nav systems? Also Lexus wants $169 to refresh the thing, when we can buy GOOD nav systems for about the same amount.

My Blue Tooth Car Phone is also pitiful. Now that we have laws that punish us for holding our phones,Lexus should be sued for not making these systems work correctly.
The Selection Switch for Reverse and Drive is Counterintuitive. What idiots did this?Push forward for reverse ?

Enough whining. Lexus has become like all the rest. They don't care.

I can tell you that the recall tires were only approved for the Bridgestone as I asked as well when they replaced my tires. I have less miles about 12K so you got more out of yours than I did, my inner tire is wearing out. I even asked them to just replace with bridgestone non runflats and they could not. I agree the nav isnt great but only two car companies have good nav its why so many people want apple or android carplay, I only use apple car play in my car so I never use the nav system.

I'm not a iOS user but I bought an iPhone with a data plan just to use Google Maps on Carplay. Much better than the stock Nav.

interesting to hear about the inner tire wear. I was told the same thing today after my fuel pump recall fix. Did they say it was caused by incorrect alignment?

they didn’t say that but they said I needed an alignment as it was off. I took the wheels off so I will take a pic of how bad they were.

Have you tried buying used tires off eBay?

I just grabbed Micheline Latitude 3 ZP for $50 each shipped with 90% tread left made in 2019.

New Tires-photo179.jpg

Here you go, you can see the inside and outside we're wearing out. I've never seen that before on any of my cars I've owned.

Looks like the tires were under-inflated.

What psi cold are you running?

How often do you adjust your tire pressure?

That explains it all right there. I tend to run 39 cold.

32 is very bad which would result in the tires wearing this way

Got it, I guess for winter I'll just need to check it more often to make sure its good.

I was told at my 15,000 mile service that I should replace the tires on my 2018 LS500!
FL 3/32; FR 2/32; RL 4/32; RR 3/32.

They are Michelin Primacy MXM4 run flats

I think this is absolutely unacceptable at such a low mileage.

How often do you floor it?

How aggressive you on corners?

How often do you check the tire pressure?
